Lawcadia is an exciting new way to find, engage and manage law firms that promotes accurate, transparent pricing and accountability without compromising service or quality. It was founded in Brisbane by senior corporate lawyer Warwick Walsh, who has worked across multiple jurisdictions and experienced first-hand many of the challenges faced by both companies and law firms. Warwick saw an opportunity to improve the way legal services are procured by companies and to provide new opportunities for law firms to win work outside of existing relationships. The values that drive Lawcadia forward, derive from a strong belief in honesty, integrity and simplicity.
Our brief was to create a brand and web application that is recognised by clients globally as the leading way to procure commercial legal services, safely and confidentially. The name “Lawcadia” is inspired by the Greek word “arcadia”, which refers to an idyllic place of natural beauty, peace and simplicity, often compared to the philosophical ideal of Utopia.
A strategy session uncovered the essence of Lawcadia's personality – clever, analytical and competitive qualities, sitting alongside an underlying basetone of confidence and a strong sense of empowerment. The logo, colour palette and supporting look and feel communicate an impactful design that feels trustworthy with a high level of integrity. The functional features of the web application needed to be incredibly simple and have an intuitive user experience that translated to saving time, money and resources.
The application, written in Ruby on Rails, is designed to connect companies with the most suitable legal services provider for each legal matter that is presented. This ensures companies understand which law firms want to do their legal work and at what price in a rapidly changing and evolving market. Companies then receive competitive pricing alternatives for all legal work. This provides a framework to manage their legal services providers and hold them accountable for their pricing and service.
Lawcadia launched on February 29 and received very positive feedback on the overall brand design and the simplicity of the applications user experience. Several top tier firms have already signed up with more moving onto the platform daily. Visit lawcadia.com
